What Do with My Curls at Night?
Curly hair can be a blessing and a challenge, especially when it comes to preserving those bouncy curls overnight. Enter the pineapple method! It’s a simple yet effective way to keep your curls intact while you sleep. But, what if you don’t have a silk scarf or traditional hair-tie on hand? No worries! Our Curly Pineapples can do the trick. Here’s how to pineapple your curly hair with this stylish accessory!
1. Start with Dry, Styled curly hair
Before you begin, make sure your hair is completely dry and styled. Wet or damp hair can cause frizz and may not hold the pineapple shape as well. If you’ve just washed your hair, allow it to air dry fully or use a diffuser to speed up the process. Our plopping nets are also great for this if you have wavy.
2. Gather the headband and Slip it over Your Hair
Ensure the pineapple is has the pattern facing outward. Take your the pineapple headband and slide it over your head, bring it down to your neck, then untuck your hair.
3. Gently lift the pineapple to your hairline. Then flip your hair forward and pull up the back of the pineapple.
The pineapple should be snug enough to keep your curls in place but not so tight that it creates indentations or pulls at your hair. Adjust as needed to find the right balance of how much hair you want inside the headband.
4. Secure the Pineapple (Optional)
Once your curls are comfortably tucked into the pineapple, you can use a hair-tie to keep your curls propped up and in place. However, in most cases, the pineapple should do the job without extra help.
5. Sleep and Enjoy
Now that your hair is securely in place, you’re ready to hit the hay! The pineapple method will protect your curls and help them maintain their shape overnight. The Curly Pineapple adds a touch of style and ensures your hair stays put.
6. Morning Refresh
In the morning, carefully remove the pineapple and gently shake out your curls. Most curly and coily hair types don’t need to refresh. But if needed, you might want to use a little bit of curl refreshing spray or a light leave-in conditioner to revive any curls that may have lost their bounce. Fluff your hair with your fingers and you’re good to go!
